Panel and controls

This page describes the logic of use of the front controls.

Display

The display shows:

  • program status;
  • configuration menu;
  • editable values;
  • any warning messages;
  • references to language, time, date and light parameters.

Startup messages

At power-on the display shows for about 4 seconds:

then, for about 4 more seconds, the firmware version:

SEASONGENERATOR
Vers. 1.9 B165

The main screen then appears.

Main screen

The main screen is made up of several information pages. The pages change on their own every 5 seconds. Use UP and DOWN to scroll them manually: DOWN moves to the next page, UP goes back. After each key press the page stays visible for another 5 seconds.

Pages always present:

With the Manual program the main screen shows only the first two pages: time and date, Sunrise / Sunset.

Additional pages depending on the program:

With Use mode set to Only lamp the following also appear:

With the Fixed limit the three values are the same. See Lamp limit.

With Energy saving set to With sensor the following also appear:

See Energy saving.

If the lamp map must be redone, the first page stays still and the second line alternates Redo lamp map and the program. See Lamp profiles.

Keys

KeyFunction
MENUenters the menu and moves to the next item; in date screens it increases the year
OKconfirms and saves the value
UPincreases the value or changes the choice; in time screens it increases the minutes
DOWNdecreases the value or changes the choice; in date screens it increases the day
LEFTin time screens it increases the hours
RIGHTin date screens it increases the month; in AstroGPS it moves the cursor
INSP.manages the night inspection

Exact wordings may vary depending on panel graphics.

Holding a key down repeats its function: the first repeat comes after 0.8 seconds, then one every 0.2 seconds. This is useful for scrolling quickly through long values, such as minutes or percentages.

Backlight

The display backlight switches off 5 minutes after the last key press.

The first key pressed while the display is off switches the backlight back on and also performs its function. To switch the display back on without changing anything, press UP or DOWN from the main screen.

Rule of thumb:

  1. press MENU to enter configuration;
  2. press MENU again to reach the item;
  3. use the arrows to modify;
  4. confirm with OK;
  5. wait to return to the main screen or exit the menu.

From the main screen, pressing MENU repeatedly shows the items in this order:

  1. Use Program
  2. Energy / Saving
  3. Night Light
  4. Inspection time
  5. Modify / Date / Time
  6. Curr.RMS / Device tmp (measurements)
  7. Use mode
  8. Lamp limit, only with Only lamp
  9. Dimming type
  10. Mains freq.
  11. Select language
  12. Factory reset

After Factory reset, MENU returns to the main screen.

If no key is pressed for 30 seconds, the display returns to the main screen on its own.

Measurements

After Modify / Date / Time, pressing MENU shows the measurement screen:

DisplayMeaning
Curr.RMScurrent drawn by the outputs, in amperes
Device tmpinternal temperature of the device, in degrees Celsius

The values update in real time and cannot be changed.

  • OK returns to the main screen;
  • MENU moves to Use mode.

This screen is useful during commissioning, to check the lamp current draw and the controller temperature.

Language

The SOL-7000 menu is available in 12 languages: Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Hebrew (transliterated), Polish, Romanian, Turkish and Greek (transliterated).

Changing the menu language

  1. from the main screen, press MENU repeatedly to scroll through the menu items;
  2. after Dimming type and Mains freq. the Select language screen appears;
  3. use UP and DOWN to scroll through the languages: the display switches language immediately and shows the name of the selected language;
  4. press OK to save: the controller returns to the main screen and uses the new language from then on.

Pressing MENU instead of OK moves to the next item without saving the language permanently.

If the display is in a language you do not know

The language screen is always the item that follows the 50 Hz / 60 Hz choice. Press MENU until the display shows 50 Hz or 60 Hz, press MENU once more, then choose the language with UP / DOWN and confirm with OK.

When an item on the display is abbreviated, the operational meaning is indicated in the manual instead of just the abbreviation.

Factory reset

Factory reset is the last menu item. It restores all settings to their factory values.

Path:

MENU -> ... -> Select language -> MENU -> Factory reset

Procedure:

  1. the display shows Factory reset and Confirm: NO;
  2. use UP or DOWN to choose Confirm: YES;
  3. press OK;
  4. the display shows Reset done and Press OK;
  5. press OK to return to the main screen.

With Confirm: NO and OK, or by pressing MENU, you exit without changing anything.

Output status

SOL-7000 can control lamp, neon and dimming according to the product configuration.

If the device detects an abnormal condition, it switches off the outputs and displays a warning message. While these messages are shown the keys are not active.
